Job Description Job Description Lifeguard Job Description Overview We are looking for energetic outgoing people who are interested in bettering the lives of young children with the instruction of a lifelong skill. People with good communications skills who are enthusiastic, driven, and dedicated to children should apply. Responsibilities Maintain constant, uninterrupted surveillance of patrons in the pool area using proper 10/20 scanning method. Act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of everyone in the pool area in the event of an emergency. Provide emergency care treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. Prepare and maintain preliminary pool area Incident Reports for both customers and employees. Must always wear a whistle and know how to use it accordingly. Check pool equipment for readiness, ex.: Backboard, pool buoy. Keep records of pool readings. Keep pool deck clean. Perform other duties as assigned including required pool maintenance. Presents a professional appearance and maintains a high standard of customer service. Physical Demands Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 75 lbs. Requires close supervision and the ability to adjust focus often. Frequently required to stand, walk, kneel and be able to reach with both hands and arms. Must be able to complete all lifeguard certification qualifications efficiently Swim Instructor hours are included with a minimum of 10 teaching hours for part-time and 12 teaching hours for full-time. Paid training for Swim Instructors. CPR and/or Lifeguard Certified training provided and mandatory. Must be able to keep and maintain current lifeguard and CPR certifications that are recognized by the Department of Health, by county, for swimmers of all ages. Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekends and/or holidays. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Legal documentation establishing your identity and eligibility to be legally employed in the US.
