Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, a designated Level 3 Medical Home, is the largest federally qualified health center network in New York State, and the second largest in the nation. It includes eight primary care sites, 40 school-based health centers and dental clinics, four day care centers, the nation's largest dental residency program, and New York State's largest behavioral health program. In this role, the successful candidate The Health Educator is responsible for providing evidence based intervention workshops and other activities using a youth development approach to reduce rates of unplanned pregnancy and STIs.Job Responsibilities:Conduct pregnancy prevention workshops in Brooklyn high schools and high school equivalency program.Conduct sexual health risk assessment screeningProvide one on one risk reduction counselingFacilitate peer education groupConduct outreachAssist in planning and implementing community eventsCollaborate with other staff in creating and maintaining an overall vision and culture for Project SAFE programParticipate in weekly staff meetingsComplete required documentation for required activities.Prepare and submit monthly reportsMinimum Qualifications:To qualify you must have a HS DiplomaPrior work experience with community health outreach. The salary range for the role is $47,000.00 - $51,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
