The Patient Access Specialist is an expert in areas of customer service, registration/scheduling, insurance, and HSS Standards of Care. Patient Access Specialist is expected to score in the top 5% of measureable categories within 6 months of hire. ResponsibilitiesProvide exceptional customer service to all patients, visitors, and customersPrioritize patient flowVerify insurance and obtain benefitsTriage phone calls and schedule appointmentsRespond to patient, visitor, and customer inquiriesObtain patient demographics, personal information, and medical history by interviewing patients Collect paymentsPerforms other related duties incidental to the work described herein Qualifications RequirementsBachelor's degree preferred; High School Diploma/Equivalent required. Two years in a customer service fieldDesired QualificationsSuperior written and oral communication skillsExceptional customer service skillsAbility to multi-taskAbility to work in a team environmentKnowledge of healthcare and health insurance Familiarity with medical terminologyDisplays positive attitudes towards assignments and othersAbility to add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate percentages Other Requirements #LI-Onsite Pay Range - Minimum USD $28.99/Hr. Pay Range - Maximum USD $33.34/Hr.
