Job description Job Title: Talent Specialist Pay Grade: Reports to: Director of Corporate Talent Management and Shared Services Dotted Line to: No Department: No Number of Direct Reports: n/a Key Internal Partners: HR Department, hiring managers, employees Key External Partners: External recruiters, externals vendors, university partners Project Management: No Location: New York (Hybird) Revision date: February 2024 JOB SUMMARY: The Talent Specialist is responsible for managing talent acquisition for salaried and non-exempt professional positions for the corporate workforce as well as Talent management initiatives. This position requires a proactive and driven individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a passion for connecting candidates with the right opportunities. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Talent Acquisition Strategy and Execution: Develop and implement effective talent acquisition strategies to attract and hire qualified candidates. Collaborate with HRBP, Director and hiring managers to define job requirements and specifications for open positions. Source candidates using various channels, such as job boards, social media and social recruiting platforms, professional networks, and referrals. Manage and monitor company profile on social recruiting sites. Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure inclusive and equitable interviewing practices, including the elimination of biases in the recruitment process. Build strong relationships with external organizations, networks, and partners to enhance diversity recruitment efforts and stay current with industry best practices. Conduct thorough screening of applicants, including resume reviews, phone screens, and preliminary interviews, to assess qualifications, skills, and fit. Coordinate and schedule interviews with candidates and hiring managers and interview teams, ensuring a timely and efficient process. Provide timely communication to Director and hiring managers throughout the recruitment process. Candidate Experience and Support: Guide and support candidates throughout the recruitment process, providing timely updates and feedback. Conduct reference checks and background screenings for selected candidates. Manage the applicant tracking system (ATS) and maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records. Performance Management and Succession Planning: Assist Director in performance management initiatives, including impact management, career development, and succession planning. Educate employees and managers on process steps and key deadlines University Recruitment: Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent from universities and colleges. Work with hiring managers to understand their talent needs and requirements. Utilize various sourcing channels, including university career portals, alumni networks, and online platforms, to identify potential candidates. Conduct resume screenings, pre-screen interviews, and assessments to assess candidates' qualifications and skills. Coordinate and conduct campus interviews, informational sessions, and networking events. Talent Analytics and Reporting: Utilize HR data and analytics to assess recruitment and talent trends, turnover rates, succession coverage, and workforce demographics. Prepare reports and presentations on talent management metrics and outcomes. Provide insights and recommendations based on data-driven analysis to support decision-making. Process Optimization and Collaboration: Collaborate with HR team members and hiring managers to continuously improve recruitment processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS: Time To Fill Employee retention Diversity of candidate slates Cost per Hire Project deadlines REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or relevant field EXPERIENCE 5 years of recruitment, talent acquisition, or generalist experience required. SKILLS Proven track record of successfully sourcing and hiring candidates for various positions and levels. Knowledge of recruitment best practices, including sourcing techniques, candidate assessment methods, and interview skills. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other HR software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with hiring managers, candidates, and other stakeholders. Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines. High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality. HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical requirements described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work is performed largely in an office with routine exposure to a plant environment which requires the use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours equaling 40 hours per week. Some variation in work hours is expected due to special projects, deadlines, and other matters. Must have the ability to occasionally lift 10-20-pound boxes. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Occasional travel to other company locations may be required on a limited basis.
