The Application Security Engineer is a key member of the Information Security team, responsible for integrating security practices into the entire software development lifecycle. This role focuses on automating security processes, identifying vulnerabilities early in the development process, and ensuring the security and compliance of applications, systems, and infrastructure.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Collaborate with Development and Operations teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance phases Develop, implement automated security controls, and maintain automated security testing and scanning tools as part of CI/CD pipelines Act as a subject matter expert on application security to improve upon and further integrate security best practices into product design and engineering efforts Implement security controls and tests to identify vulnerabilities, code flaws, and misconfigurations, and manage security tools such as static and dynamic application security testing (SAST/DAST), container security, and vulnerability scanners Support development teams with secure code reviews and other assessments to identify security weaknesses and vulnerabilities Support the growth and development of the members of the Application Security team Design, implement, and maintain secure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices Implement security controls for cloud environments, containers, and serverless architectures Monitor and respond to security alerts and incidents, collaborating with incident response teams to investigate and mitigate security breaches Implement proactive measures to detect and respond to threats Ensure applications and infrastructure adhere to industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements, while collaborating with compliance teams to participate in audits and assessments Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of security practices, procedures, and standards Assist in development of security patterns, processes and automated tooling that prevent classes of security issues Perform other tasks and duties as required and assigned Experience and Skills Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University, preferably in Computer Science, Information Security or other related fields Minimum 5-years experience in Application Security Relevant industry certifications preferred Strong background in software development, operations, and information security Experience with C#, .Net, Java, and Rust required Strong understanding of security principles, protocols, and best practices Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and effective communication and collaboration abilities What We Offer Wedbush Securities offers robust benefits to our colleagues Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with multiple health plan options for you and your family Health Savings Account with company-sponsored contributions Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) traditional and dependent care Pre-Tax Commuter Benefits 401(k) plan with discretionary, competitive company matching and profit-sharing contributions Tuition reimbursement up to $5,250/year 3 weeks of Paid Time Off 2 weeks of Paid Sick Time (may vary by location) 10 Paid Holidays Charitable Donation Matching Contributions Paid Leave (Military, Jury Duty, Volunteer Time Off, Disability, etc.) FINRA License Sponsorship Travel & Employee Assistance and Employee Discount ProgramsThe reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic location. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $140,000-$180,000. Colleagues may be eligible for additional, discretionary incentive compensation based on the individual and the firm's performance.
