Job DescriptionThe Analytics and Behavior Change team supporting the Attain by Aetna mobile app is currently looking for an exceptional Lead Big Data Engineer to join our team in one of our locations: Hartford, CT; Wellesley, MA; New York, NY; Chicago, IL, Pittsburg, PA, Irving, TX. Remote is also being considered. This lead role is an opportunity to join the Engineering team within the Analytics organization working on projects that will shape the future of the organization. The immediate need will be to join our team supporting the Attain product. Attain is a mobile product made for our members to help them lead a happier & healthier life. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of technical experience designing, developing, & deploying big data pipelines and frameworks both on prem and in the in the cloud. They will have a demonstrated ability to communicate advanced technical concepts to broad audiences, a history of working with Data Science and Product groups, and an ability to mentor junior engineers. Responsibilities: Design and develop fault tolerant, high quality, big data pipelines (streaming and batch) using open source tooling (Python, Spark, Scala, Java) both on prem and in the cloud. Integrate data from a variety of sources for Data Science ML development and app features, assuring quality, accuracy, and security standards are met. Advance the backend data architecture and technology stack along with infrastructure and DevSecOps partners. Maintain complex, shared, big data environments with Data Science partners ensuring high performance. Migrate on prem pipelines and frameworks to the cloud. Develop CI/CD pipelines to support automated testing and releasing of new functionality. Communicate advanced technical concepts to the team to gain support of technology change and to explain solution designs. Decompose high level and complex requirements into task level work for themselves and others on the team. Experiments with available tools and advises on new tools in order to determine optimal solution given the requirements dictated by the model/use case. Collaborate with Data Science and Product partners to take high level requirements and implement elegant solutions with the team including more junior engineers. Triage and resolve issues with end users. Accountable for application uptime and maintenance.Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:Minimum: 95,000Maximum: 209,000Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience building complex streaming and batch data pipelines and frameworks with open source tooling (Python, Spark, Scala, Java). 5+ years hands on engineering experience with Linux based operating systems and related technology stacks. 2+ years of experience solutioning and implementing in one of the major public clouds, preferably GCP. 2+ years of experience developing solutions using Message Systems (Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc). 2+ years of with at least one document-oriented DB (MongoDB, CouchDB, etc)COVID RequirementsCOVID-19 Vaccination RequirementCVS Health requires certain colleagues to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including any booster shots if required), where allowable under the law, unless they are approved for a reasonable accommodation based on disability, medical condition, religious belief, or other legally recognized reasons that prevents them from being vaccinated.
