Our tenure and proven achievements make Cognizant a frontrunner to propose outcome-driven approaches for the ServiceNow platform.Summary of Position: ServiceNow SAM Principal DeveloperThe ServiceNow SAM Principal Developer is responsible for executing specific technical tasks, serving as technical support, interfacing directly with clients, and assisting to create standardization of technology methodologies, approaches and deliverables.Duties & Responsibilities: Assist in the development of SAM processes and the ongoing management of software. Assist in the development and implementation of enterprise-wide software asset management program, policies, and procedures to minimize compliance risk, enhance the program, and create process efficiencies. Interact with the Asset Management system to ensure data quality of new or changed Asset records Ensure data integrity both from the ownership and discovery standpoint Work with Application SMEs and stakeholders to perform gap analysis and provide solution. Participate in Configuration Management meetings and Story Time where appropriate Review the data being populated into the CMDB and act as partial owner of the CMDB Work with process owners to understand the process requirements related to the capture of configuration data and develop technical specifications and solutions ServiceNow Certified System Administration Design and develop solutions within the ServiceNow platform; including but not limited to modifications of applications, forms, workflows, interfaces and any other customizations required to support client processes. Analyze and design custom applications for medium to high complexity business problems according to user specifications and assist in developing detailed application specifications. Participate in regular peer code reviews to ensure high-quality and low defect outcomes. Regularly interface with QA and Client testing resources during UAT. Create documentation describing the configurations performed as needed for every sprint. Provide suggestions and alternatives to technical challenges to meet business solutions. Advise clients on best practice process and development approaches. Innovate and identify solutions that can be reused on future engagements. Maintains ServiceNow certifications with the latest delta exams. Achieves additional certifications as needed.Knowledge & Skills: 7 years of experience in IT Asset Management. Strong understanding of ServiceNow Platform, with experience in the SAM Pro and Contracts modules. Strong knowledge in the software asset and contract lifecycle, with ability to read and interpret software entitlement documentation. Must possess expert working knowledge of software asset discovery, software entitlements and licensing, reconciliation practices, and allocation procedures. Should have previous experience with SAM tools and SAM integrations projects for discovery and purchasing. Can accurately define a client issue and can interpret and design a resolution based on deep product knowledge. Experience integrating with tools to federate data into the CMDB Expert in IT Asset Management Lifecycle processes (including hardware and software) Good interpersonal skills, including collaboration, communication, relationship building, and negotiation. Familiarity with the following concepts: XML, JSON/script language, database. Ability to discuss credentials, install a product, troubleshoot permission issues, discuss and trouble shoot network connectivity with network engineers.
