Job Description Job Description Description/Job SummaryThe Resource Center Paralegal is responsible for specifically delegated substantivelegal administrative and document-related tasks for which attorneys are responsible. This role provides a full range of support to attorneys Firm-wide with case management, documents, indexing, filing and other applications necessary to assist attorneys in executing in these functions so they may focus on client services. Responsibilities/DutiesUnder the direct supervision of the Resource Center Manager, coordinate work with department members and collaborate with other administrative departments to support attorneys with day-to-day stages of case managementCreate and revise legal documents to the Firm's specifications using the Firm's latest software and MS Office toolsPerform research using electronic research tools and other legal reference materialsOrganize documents and coordinate document production including but not limited closing and pre-closing assistance (binders, signature packet prep, indexing); cross-referencing and page checks; research (internet research, SEC searches); proofreading; definitions checksMaintain databases in accordance with requirements, assuring the ongoing ability to access, edit, research, and accurately report data as requiredMaintain an accurate diary log of all work performedProvide general support as needed for legal functions including word processing, producing of presentations, charts and proofreading documentsScan and format documents, convert documents to/from different formats (e.g. Word, PDF), produce mail merge documents, create closing sets. Prepare document comparisons (Litera/redlines)Coordinate document printing and courier deliveries (FedEx, UPS); and will perform internal or hand deliveries when requiredPerform notary dutiesProvide front desk coverage when required to convey information to callers and/or direct callers to the appropriate services or resources and to coordinate work requests with team membersWork overtime or flexible schedule as required to meet deadlines and provide department coveragePerform other duties as assignedRequired SkillsAbility to clearly present information verbally and in writingExceptional customer service skills and a commitment to providing excellent serviceStrong telephone etiquette and customer service abilitiesAbility to communicate in a clear and professional mannerAbility to proofread documents for quality and accuracyExcellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and professionalismAdvanced knowledge of MS Office SuiteBasic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and divisionStrong attention to detail with an emphasis on quality and accuracyCommitment to providing excellent work productAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsCommitment to discretion when working with sensitive and confidential informationAbility to effectively prioritize, plan work activities and meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentClient focused with the ability to quickly develop organizational astuteness and produce work within the attorneys' and clients' parameters and in support of the Firm's guidelines and corporate brandingPreferred SkillsKnowledge of Adobe products, FileSite, Payne Numbering, Change-Pro and Litera2-4 years of relevant experience in a center-based environmentPreferred ExperienceParalegal experienceRequired EducationBachelor's degreeNotary certification (must complete within three months of hire)DetailsSalary InformationNY only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $50k to $60k at the time of posting.The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
