Details: --> We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Senior Plant Manager to join a leading Company located in the Elmwood Park, NJ surrounding area.The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the New Jersey facility and all activities related to the facility, including paper making, fiber and converting lines. As safety is our primary concern, this role works closely with the safety manager to ensure our facility is as safe as it can, be and our employees are well-trained in safety and operations.Job Responsibilities: The Plant Manager is required to report to the VP of Operations.This person is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the entire New Jersey facility in all respects including but not limited to production, maintenance, supervision, and evaluation of employees, and works collaboratively with the Purchasing Manager, Human Resources, and Finance.The facility is largely a paper making facility with a recycling plant, fiber operations, warehousing and limited converting lines, with the potential for future growth.Key SLT members participating in SLT meetings and presenting as applicable.Establishes Operations 'Best Practices' through industry knowledge and research across all plants.Ensures Safety standards and programs are in place particular to the paper industry; leads/oversees our accident prevention programs.Collaborates and partners with Human Resources re: key hiring, engagement, and team building at the plants and x-plant cooperation.Provides Leadership in all areas including but not limited to Safety, Quality, and Production. Successful track record of large-scale capital project implementationExceptional written and verbal communication skillsProven team-building abilities that motivate and engage. Acts independently after collaborating and gathering all the facts and takes accountability for her/his actions. Strong sense of urgency and ownershipAdvanced computer skills in Microsoft OfficeFunctional ability in Project Management using computerized tools such as MS Project, I-Manit, or SAPStrong presentation skills Strategizes and sets Goals and objectives for the BU in conjunction with other SLT members and ensures implementation by all plants.Essential is the planning of machinery projects, downtime, and project management. To that end, the incumbent will develop the Superintendent for future conjunction with the Director, this person initiates and delivers on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to deliver manufacturing and P&L commitments.This person will work with all manufacturing, purchasing, sales, and distribution teams to ensure consistently finished goods are delivered to customers as committed.Part of Safety encompasses the safe operations and commitment to housekeeping and cleanliness while operating to constantly improve the quality of Fiber operations and the facility overall.Responsible for mill accountabilities including safety, compliance, quality, productivity & cost.Manage fiber yield management, chemical costs, and overall aggressive cost management.Manage teams in a manner that supports teamwork and development.Assist in developing the annual budget, approve and monitor expenditures, and report variances to budget.Drives continuous improvement activities to generate improvement in KPIs, savings, and efficiencies.Aligned with Purchasing on optimal uses and buying of wastepaper.Basic Hiring Criteria: Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field and a minimum of 10 years of paper manufacturing management experienceDemonstrated commitment to improvement in safety results.Current knowledge of converting operations, & paper manufacturing equipment. Ability to lead teams in a cooperative and inspirational manner.Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and challenging deadlines.Ability to develop strategic plans to ensure continuous improvement of business results.Ability to read standard blueprints and machine & process drawings.Collaboratively establishes and cascades these Goals and Objectives for all of Operations.Builds and is accountable for leadership at the plant, including strategic hires and development. Strong knowledge of all areas of plant operations.Experience operating plants on budget while achieving production and efficiency goals.Establishes budget and cost containment measures, as applicable.Acute awareness of the market and industry trends.Manages projects efficiently, on time, and within budget.Working knowledge and application of chemistry, de-inking, and bleaching.Ability to lead teams in a cooperative and inspirational manner.Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and challenging deadlines.Strong sense of urgency and ownershipLean Six Sigma experience desirable.The ability to develop a team and individuals both technically and for people-related roles as the business grows.Self-starter, highly motivated, with strong communication skills.Strong ability to collaborate and cooperate with peer leaders and departments: ability to see the larger picture of the business and its growth and how the Mill relates to Converting and the overall strategic plan.Environmental stewardship, machinery knowledge.Desire and experience in developing people, succession planning, technical training abilities, and assembling manuals, and materials for training.
